dumplings in the mist



Sea Point my formal home town......where i live and worked from many years....................








Foghorn and mist are part of the cape winter ambience in sea point where i called home once years ago,
A steaming hot broth dumplings called xian long pao has always been my kind of food on a cold chilly
day. Spontaneously after my shopping craving for He Sheng house specialties - Our communities used to call it the dumplings shop.





unpretentious and basic menu and deco just like a family run business with homely feel...




As usual if I am alone a dozen of the house dumplings can be a meal on its own !


  

i always enjoy with some soy adding to the typical ginger and black vinegar condiments
sometime i also ask for their homemade sichuan peppercorn chili which i adored





Here is my ultimate best rich oxtail broth with flaky tendons with all the xian long element you meet your expectation of a xian long pao......
This was the jumbo size of dumplings served with the chicken feet plate where find in yumcha trolley.
the hole fit perfect for a drinking straw to enjoy the broth while is too so hot to draw in into your mouth.......very unhappy guest complaint to me at the The Westin Kuala Lumpur claimed the broth too hot to suck ?
